International Jazz Day – UNESCO

On April 27, 2012, after an excellent Music Hack Paris organized by The Google Cultural Institute et Joshfire, we were selected to present Dualo on the launch day of the International Jazz Day, created by UNESCO and supported by Herbie Hancock, ambassador of UNESCO Charity.

We had the honor of doing our official presentation in front of Herbie Hancock himself. We had no time to ask him questions about our explanations but we could notice many signs from his part during the conference validating the relevance of our point. This photo proves it and this other one too. They are part of great jazz photographer Christian Ducasse’s photo report published on the blog culturejazz.fr. Thank you Christian !

On the afternoon, we had the opportunity to meet quite a number of interesting people. We thank all those who came to test the dualo. Here is a post written by PhotonQuantique presenting the dualo and a video showing a dualo presentation by Jules and a piece of music from Purcell.

There was a lot of key figures coming from all over the world :  Georges Benson, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller, Hugh Masekela, Barbara Hendricks, Dee Dee Bridgewater … and to close the evening  a beautiful concert.

You can also see the few photos we took on the dualo flickr.
